GLASGOW — ANNOUNCEMENTS: The Park City Christmas Parade will be Dec. 6 at 10 a.m., the Glasgow Christmas Parade will be Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. and the Cave City Christmas Parade will be Dec.13 at 5 p.m. The County Christmas Luncheon will be Dec. 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Glasgow Country Club. The Salvation Army Bell Ringing will be Dec. 11 at Kmart. The Sitel meeting scheduled for Dec. 11 has been canceled.
REPORTS: Barren County Deputy Matt Mutter reported that as of Dec. 2, the jail is housing 129 inmates. Of those, 52 are county inmates and 67 are state inmates. Mutter also said that 30 of those 67 were inmates with Barren County charges, but were classified as state inmates. Keith Sharp with JKS Architects, along with several members of the community addressed the court regarding their thoughts on the Barren County Correctional Center.
ACTIONS: The court approved the payment of claims as submitted, a transfer of funds, appointments of Jim Landis and Wade Barton to the Barren County Extension Districts Council, approved the first reading of Ordinance 477 relating to Budget Amendment 3, which increases the receipts of the general fund by $17,330.88 and the road fund by $87,610.30 and adopted a resolution from the Community Development Block Grant to the Liberty District-Ralph Bunche Center for the rehabilitation of a resource and activity center building. The court also approved to purchase a motor grader for $80,890 from Diamond Equipment including a trade-in of an old motor grader worth $30,000.
