CAVE CITY — ACTION: The council did not hold a meeting due to a lack of quorum.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Despite not having a quorum, Mayor Bob Hunt made the following announcements: Effective Jan. 5 all residential garbage will be picked up on Mondays, which means there will be no more Tuesday garbage pickup; the Kentucky Department of Agriculture will no longer be issuing free rat poison due to paper bags being improper containers for the poison; the city council’s safety committee will meet in either January or February and all residents who use motorized wheelchairs for transportation are invited to attend this meeting; the community building will be closed from Jan. 11 to Feb. 1 for renovations; the Cave City Christmas Parade will be Saturday, Dec. 13 at 5 p.m.; the Cave City Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet will be Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Cave City Convention Center; newly elected city council members will be sworn into office on Dec. 30, at 5 p.m. at city hall; newly elected officials are invited to attend an orientation meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at 1 p.m. at city hall; past and present city officials are invited to attend the Local Officials Academy Jan. 12-14 in Lexington.
PRESENTATIONS: Mayor Bob Hunt presented a certificate of appreciation to Saundra Bradley for having some of her poetry published.
