EDMONTON — A Golden Alert has been issued for a Metcalfe County resident.
Mark Short is a 48-year-old white male with grayish brown hair, weighing 165 pounds and standing 5 feet 11 inches in height. He was last seen at Harper’s Home for the Aged at 2905 Columbia Road in Edmonton wearing a gray sweatshirt with a cross on the front, blue jogging pants, a blue hooded sweatshirt and white tennis shoes.
He is believed to be headed toward either Glasgow or Louisville.
The Golden Alert was initially issued on Dec. 14, but according to Emory Kidd, emergency management director for Metcalfe County, there were no updates to the alert at press time.
A Golden Alert is similar to an Amber Alert in the way it alerts law enforcement officers and the media when someone missing, said Emory Kidd, emergency management director for Metcalfe County.
“A Golden Alert is issued for someone who is over 18 years old. they can have Alzheimer’s, diminished mental capacity or be an older person,” he said.
Anyone with information concerning Short’s whereabouts are urged to contact the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Department at (270) 432-3041.
