GLASGOW — The investigation into several suspicious fires in Glasgow last week continues, according to Glasgow Fire Chief Bobby Bunnell.
Bunnell said department members had been conducting interviews and planned to meet with detectives with the Glasgow Police Department on Monday to confer on the case and address procedural issues.
Six fires occurred between 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and 4:30 a.m. Friday. The first was a couch fire at 135 Park Ave. Firefighters returned to same address at 2:15 a.m. Thursday when a passenger car was found on fire. The third incident happened at 9:15 p.m. Thursday at 200 N. Broadway. A pallet with a cardboard box and its contents was discovered on fire behind the building and extinguished by GFD firefighters. The fourth fire occurred in a storage building at 317 Columbia Ave. on Friday at 3:30 a.m. While firefighters were at that scene, they noticed smoke in the area of Ford Drive. Additional firefighters were dispatched to a house at 301 Ford Drive that was fully engulfed. The sixth fire was reported at 4:30 a.m. Friday in a trash bin behind Houchens Market at 425 Happy Valley Road.
No injuries were reported in any of the fires.
The Glasgow Fire Department requests anyone with information about these fires to contact the department at (270) 651-5170.
