Times staffers win 8 awards

Staff members of the Glasgow Daily Times captured eight awards at the Kentucky Press Association’s annual Winter Convention.

Reporter Gina Kinslow led the way for the Daily Times with four awards, including a first place for a story on Fountain Run beekeeper Steve Meador. She also won a second place for a spot news photo and second for a feature photo and honorable mention for coverage of tornado damage in Monroe County.

Editor James Brown won first place for an agricultural special section and second for a lifestyles page.

Also, reporter Jennifer Moonsong was awarded second for a picture essay and former news editor Jerianne Strange won for a story about her son’s battle with cancer.

The Daily Times competes in the smallest daily catergory that includes newspapers with under 10,000 in circulation.
