GLASGOW — Six people were injured in a three-vehicle chain reaction collision Friday shortly before 3 p.m.
Patricia R. Potter, 20, of Columbia, was traveling north on North L. Rogers Wells Boulevard in a 2003 Saturn Ion and came to a stop behind two vehicles waiting to turn left at the intersection of Columns Plaza Drive, according to a Glasgow Police Department report.
Timothy R. Hindsman, 47, of Hardyville, was driving a 1992 Buick Skylark and stopped behind Potter’s vehicle.
David A. Baker, 43, of East Main Street, Glasgow, told police he was driving his 1995 Chevrolet S10 pickup northbound on L. Rogers Wells Boulevard, failed to stop in time and struck Hindsman’s car from the rear, pushing it into the back of Potter’s vehicle, according to the report.
Baker and his passenger, Alyssa Dawn Baker, 7, of East Main Street, Glasgow, were transported by Barren-Metcalfe Emergency Medical Service to T.J. Samson Community Hospital, both for minor injuries. Potter was also transported to the hospital for minor injuries.
Hindsman was not hurt in the collision, but a passenger in his vehicle, Tommy McKinney, 46, of Hardyville, had to be extricated from the rear of the car by members of the Glasgow Fire Department. He and another passenger, Timothy R. Hindsman, 21, of Hardyville, were transported by EMS to the hospital for multiple injuries. A third passenger, Sharon K. Hindsman, 47, of Hardyville, was treated for minor injuries at the hospital after being transported by private means.
All six individuals were treated and released.
