GLASGOW — This week the following cases were hear in circuit court.
Barren Circuit Court
Pleas
The following pleas were entered in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, March 2:
– Kenny Devon Wood, 46, of Horse Cave, pleaded guilty to charges of failure to comply with sex offender registration; failure to notify address change to Department of Transportation; operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, first offense; failure to wear seatbelt; and one headlamp. Sentencing is set for May 18.
– Kevin Peoples, 28, of Cave City, pleaded guilty by Alford plea, in two separate cases, to charges of theft by unlawful taking under $300; assault, fourth degree; and possession of marijuana. The defendant was sentenced to 12 months, and granted his request for probation on the condition he make full restitution.
– Angel Marie Rogers, 26, of Cave City, pleaded guilty by Alford plea, in two separate cases, to charges of possession of marijuana, two counts. The defendant was sentenced to 12 months, and her request for probation was granted on the condition she make full restitution.
– James Timothy Spears, 39, of Lawrenceburg, pleaded guilty by Alford plea to charges of theft by unlawful taking under $300 and assault, fourth degree. The defendant was sentenced to 12 months and his request for probation was granted on the condition he make full restitution.
The following were sentenced in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, March 2:
– Larry Wayne Brooks, 32, of Cub Run, was sentenced to 10 years incarceration, based on his earlier guilty plea to charges of possession of a controlled substance, first degree (methamphetamine); possession of drug paraphernalia, first offense; theft by unlawful taking under $300; disorderly conduct; and persistent felony offender, first degree.
– Patti Jo Early, 39, of Glasgow, was sentenced to one year pre-trial diversion and standard DUI penalties, based on her earlier guilty plea to charges of possession of a controlled substance, first degree (morphine); prescription in improper container and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, first offense.
