AREA BRIEFS: Firefighters extinguish abandoned house fire
GLASGOW — Firefighters extinguish abandoned house fire
Firefighters with the North Metcalfe Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the scene of an abandoned house fire around midnight Tuesday near the intersection of Ky. 1243 and Ky. 70.
The structure was destroyed by the fire, according to Austin Bragg, chief of the Edmonton Volunteer Fire Department.
North Metcalfe firefighters were assisted by firefighters with the Edmonton and Hiseville Volunteer Fire departments.
North Metcalfe firefighters were on the scene for about an hour and a half fighting the blaze.
Information regarding the owner of the structure or the cause of the fire was not available at press time.
Legislators available to public
A legislative review reception is set for Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Edmonton State Bank.
Sen. David Givens, R-Greensburg, and Rep. Johnny Bell, D-Glasgow, will be available to speak with constituents about healthcare, education, business, the state’s budget, agriculture and the state’s future.
