Horse Cave man arrested
GLASGOW — A Horse Cave man fled from officers before being arrested Tuesday afternoon, according to a Cave City Police release.
Major Mike Gibbons was serving a Hart County warrant on Marty L. Melton, 40, of Horse Cave, at the Travel Inn Motel for failure to appear on a charge of flagrant nonsupport when Melton became aggressive toward the officer.
Gibbons had attempted to handcuff Melton when he jerked away and tried to flee on foot in a field behind the motel.
Gibbons, with assistance from Deputy Robert Smith and Hart County Sheriff’s Deputies, gave pursuit and arrested Melton a short distance from the motel.
Melton was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, second-degree fleeing and evading police on foot and third-degree terroristic threatening.
He was lodged in the Barren County Correction Center with a $750 cash bond.
