2 more file for school board seats

GLASGOW — There have been two additional people who have filed to run for office in the upcoming school board elections.

These filings took place after the publication of the Aug. 14  Glasgow Daily Times story titled “Candidate filing deadline is Tuesday.”

Jason J. Costello, who is running for the Metcalfe County Board of Education, 4th District, will be running against John Caffee, and Neil Thornbury, who could not be reached for comment, has filed to run for the Glasgow Independent School District, will be running against incumbent Amelia Kiser and Wade R. Stone for the two available seats.

Costello said he looks forward to the challenge and hopes for the opportunity to make a difference in the community.

“I just want to be able to help give the kids a good education,” Costello said. “I want to make sure it gets done right. We need to focus on education instead on things we shouldn’t be doing. We need to focus solely on the kids. I feel like I need to be there to help in any way I can.”
