AFTERNOON UPDATE 12:42 p.m.: Bennett discovery motion denied

BOWLING GREEN —

A motion made by counsel for Deputy Aaron Bennett of the Barren County Sheriff's Office has been denied by a federal judge.

Bennett challenged a motion by federal prosecutors to exclude evidence of alleged extramarital affairs of government witnesses. In a response to the motion, Bennett's attorney, Buddy Alexander, moved that the court order the United States to turn over information about the affairs of witnesses.

Judge Joseph H. McKinley, Jr., chief judge in the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky in Bowling Green, denied the motion in an order filed Wednesday.
