10:59 MORNING UPDATE: Passenger injured in Edmonton Road accident

GLASGOW — An Edmonton man was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital after a single-vehicle accident Thursday evening on Edmonton Road, according to a Barren County Sheriff’s Office statement.

The driver of the vehicle, Travis O. Gibson, 19, of Edmonton stated that he was traveling east in his 1983 GMC pickup, when the front passenger side tire blew out, according to the BCSO statement. Gibson stated that he lost control of the vehicle, and it went off the right shoulder of the roadway, striking a tree before coming to a complete stop, according to the statement.

A passenger in the vehicle, Clinton W. Kinnaird, 48, was transported to the hospital by Barren-Metcalfe County EMS for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the accident. BCSO Deputy Dean Crumbaugh investigated and was assisted by the East Barren Volunteer Fire Department.
