GLASGOW — Two Glasgow residents were indicted by a federal grand jury on Feb. 3 after allegedly obtaining more than $100,000 in Social Security Insurance payments for which they were ineligible.
Bradie and Judy Young were arrested after it was found they failed to disclose changes in their living arrangements and assets so they could receive a higher disability payment, according to the indictment filed by the U.S. District Attorney’s Office in Louisville. In the indictment, it specifies the Youngs’ ownership of other real estate besides their personal residence and assets and resources of more than $2,000. They also hid the fact that they lived together.
If convicted on the two felony counts of Social Security fraud and aiding and abetting, the Youngs could face up to five years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua Judd is prosecuting in the case with U.S. District Court Chief Judge Thomas B. Russell presiding.
