9:33 MORNING UPDATE: Construction impacts traffic for Barren County area

GLASGOW — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet released a traffic impact report Tuesday morning, with Barren County roads being worked on and parts of the interstate that could affect driver's coming in and out of the area.

In Barren County, work on a lane that has been closed from East Front Street to Davis Street on US 68/Columbia Avenue has been completed with the exception of corrective work, according to a release by Kiersten Jaggers, of the KYTC.

On Ky. 90, crews will be flagging traffic on the new Siloam Church Road, Adam McCreary Road and Green Valley Drive from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily while they build embankments and construct an asphalt base of the road bed.

The new bridge near Siloam Road is complete.

Work on a large retaining wall on the east end of the project will begin next work, but should not have much affect on traffic in the area, the release stated.

Completion of Ky. 90 project is slated for Fall 2013.

Crews have completed the widening of I-65 in Edmonson and Barren County on the Louie B. Nunn Parkway to Park City.

Widening of the north and southbound lanes of I-65 from Park City to Cave City continues with two lanes of traffic open in each direction. The northbound traffic is split between the center median, according to the release, and the outside (right) lane is the only lane that will allow drivers to exit at Cave City, the KYTC stated.

This traffic pattern will be in place until Spring of next year and is expected to be completed in Fall 2013.
