CAVE CITY —
The Cave City City Council met in special-called session briefly Monday night before going into closed session for the purpose of a disciplinary hearing involving one of the city's police officers.
City Attorney Bobby Richardson said the police officer, who was not named during the special-called session, had requested a closed disciplinary hearing.
There was no announcement made as to why the disciplinary hearing was conducted.
Representatives of the media, as well as the police officer's family members, were asked to leave the city council's chambers. Those who were allowed to stay for the hearing were Police Chief Jeff Wright, former mayor Bobby Reynolds, the police officer and his attorney, the city council, newly appointed mayor Dwayne Hatcher and other legal counsel.
Absent from the meeting was Councilman Buddy Wilshire.
