GLASGOW — A brief rainfall led to two wrecks in southeastern Barren County that happened only seven minutes apart.
The Barren County Sheriff’s Office responded to both wrecks and worked the scenes.
The first happened at the intersection of Ky. 90 and Hollow Road southeast of Glasgow.
Deputy Adam Minor arrived just before 6:30 Friday evening and learned that Jonathon A. Houchens, 25, of Glasgow, was stopped waiting for traffic in order to turn onto Hollow Road.
A 25-foot trailer that he was pulling with his 2006 Dodge 3500 pickup was struck by a 1995 Ford Mustang driven by Christopher R. Priddy, 25, of Glasgow. Priddy was unable to stop his vehicle because of the wet roadway, according to the sheriff’s office report.
Houchens and a passenger in his truck, Josh R. Short, 25, of Glasgow, and Priddy and a passenger in his car, Tawni L. Barraza, 21, of Smiths Grove, all refused medical treatment at the scene.
Deputy Minor was assisted by Deputy Bobby McCown, East Barren Volunteer Fire Department and Barren/Metcalfe Emergency Medical Service.
The second wreck occured in a looping S-curve on Ky. 63 at about 6:36 p.m. south of Glasgow.
A driver lost control of his truck in the curve and the vehicle left the roadway. No injuries were reported in the single-vehicle wreck, according to the sheriff’s office press release.
