GLASGOW —
A fatal fire in Tompkinsville has claimed the life of a Monroe County man.
Earnest Walker, 72, of 187 Brown Cemetery Road, Tompkinsville, was located inside his residence after the home was engulfed by fire Saturday night.
Kentucky State Police Post 15 in Columbia was contacted by Monroe County dispatch Saturday about 9 p.m. When state troopers arrived on the scene they discovered the house was completely destroyed by the fire, accord to a KSP report.
No foul play is suspected and an autopsy was scheduled on Sunday. The investigation is ongoing by Detective Jamie Richard and Arson Investigator Alex Wesley.
KSP was assisted at the scene by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, the Monroe County Coroner, Monroe County Fire Department and Mudlick Fire Department.
