Three properties are on their way to being annexed into Glasgow’s city limits – one because the city purchased it relatively recently and it seemed logical to make it part of the city, one as part of an ongoing tidying-up process and the third simply because it was a prior oversight.
Two of the properties are owned by the city of Glasgow – one containing approximately 91.83 acres on Bayles Road and the other containing approximately 23.52 acres on Glen Garry Road. Both would have public (P) zoning. For the latter, the remaining 74.34 acres of the same property would be rezoned from low-density residential (R-1) and public (P) to only public (P).
The third property contains about 6.69 total acres on Carroll Knicely Drive and is owned by the Glasgow/Barren County Industrial Development and Economic Authority. It would have a heavy industrial (I-2) zoning.
First readings of ordinances annexing each with their respective zoning designations passed unanimously at Glasgow City Council’s regular meeting Monday; the second reading required for final passage is expected at the Feb. 11 meeting.
