GLASGOW — Police arrested three Barren County residents and a Warren County man Friday after discovering two methamphetamine laboratories in a residence on Mills Town Road.
The Barren County Drug Task Force, Barren County Sheriff’s Office, Glasgow Police Department, Park City Fire Department and Haywood Fire Department responded to a tip that an active meth lab was located at the northwestern Barren County residence. Officers discovered two active and highly dangerous labs at the scene, according to a drug task force detective.
Police charged James R. Arms, 46, of Park City, with manufacturing methamphetamine, first offense; first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense; first-degree trafficking of a controlled substance, first offense; possession of drug paraphernalia, first offense; possession of anhydrous ammonia in an unapproved container with intent to manufacture meth, first offense; and possession of meth precursors, first offense. James E. Arms, 23, of Park City, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, first offense; second-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense; third-degree possession of a controlled substance,; and possession of drug paraphernalia, first offense. Donald Booker, 35, of Smiths Grove, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, manufacturing meth, unlawful possession of a meth precursor, knowingly possessing anhydrous ammonia with the intent to produce meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Tara Garmon, 27, of Glasgow, were each charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, first offense.
Several of the Drug Task Force officers at the scene recently completed the recertification and training course.
“Obviously I wouldn’t call this good practice, because you never want to see something like this, but it is something we always want to be prepared for,” a task force member said.
Drug task force members are not identified because they work undercover.
