EDMONTON — MEETING: Edmonton City Council
DATE: Nov. 2, 2009
ACTION: Council members took the following action: Approved minutes of Oct. 5 meeting; adopted a resolution in memoriam of councilman Coy Wilson; adopted a memorandum of agreement regarding a $9,500 Land and Water Conservation Fund grant for playground equipment at the city park with a 50/50 match; approved on first reading on an ordinance amending the city’s budget by $8,000 for renting the park to the Metcalfe County Board of Education; approved on first reading an ordinance donating $2,500 to Honor Flight WWII; approved on first reading an ordinance amending the city’s budget to increase the appropriated fund balance of the General Fund by $1,677 from $1,670,914 to $1,672,591 for the new welcome to Edmonton sign and to increase the revenue balance by $1,677 from $3,929,148 to $3,930,825 for a Pride grant; and selected Danny Poynter as a new council member to fill vacancy left by the death of councilman Coy Wilson.
EXECUTIVE SESSION: Council members met in executive session to discuss the possible acquisition of property. Upon resuming their open session an announcement was made that no action was taken.
REPORTS: Council members heard the following reports: Emergency management, police, fire, water, sewer and gas and parks and recreation.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: An announcement was made regarding a VFW event on Nov. 10 at 11 a.m.
