Five arrested on drug charges

GLASGOW — Glasgow police officers arrested five individuals Wednesday on drug charges in related incidents.

Around 1:30 p.m. officers stopped a 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora after it ran a stop sign while making a left turn from S. Franklin Street onto East Main, according to a GPD report. Officers observed the vehicle carelessly weaving in and out of its travel lane prior to the stop, so they contacted a K9 unit to inspect for possible drugs in the vehicle, according to the report.

The K9 unit alerted officers of a hydrocodone bottle in the back seat of the vehicle and inside the bottle were a marijuana blunt and a small bag of marijuana. The driver of the vehicle, Christopher M. Collins, 28, of Scottsville, also had a small knife with burnt residue on the end. Later, the K9 unit positively alerted officers of drug residue on the knife, according to the report.

Police arrested Collins and charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia second or greater offense, possession of marijuana and cited him for traffic violations.

They also arrested his passengers, Sandra Torres, 44, of Scottsville, and Clifford D. Barber, 18, of Lucas, on misdemeanor drug charges. The hydrocodone bottle was prescribed to Torres, but non of the individuals claimed ownership of the marijuana inside, according to the report.

Officers also discovered beer inside the car and obtained a search warrant of the residence from where the individuals had just left, 403 East College.

Around 4 p.m. officers entered the residence with the search warrant and discovered a large stockpile of beer and whisky, two bags of marijuana that appeared to be packaged for sale and a package of rolling papers. Two residents were present during the search and were arrested on several charges.

Police arrested Antwyan Lee Nuckols, 19, and Antonio Lee Nuckols, 18, and charged each with trafficking in controlled substance within 1,000 yards of a school, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia first offense, and misdemeanor charges related to illegal possession and sale of alcohol in a dry territory.

All five individuals were lodged in the Barren County Correction Center.

Collins, Antwyan and Antonio Nuckols were each lodged on $1,500 bond, while Torres and Barber were each lodged on $500 bond.
