Glasgow woman injured in collision

Staff report

PARK CITY — A Glasgow woman was injured on Tuesday after her vehicle collided with the back of another vehicle south of Mammoth Cave National Park.

Catherine K. Williams, 31, was traveling south on Mammoth Cave Parkway near Zion Cemetery Road in a 2005 Toyota Corolla around 2:45 p.m. when her car collided with the rear of a 1999 Chevy Blazer driven by Henry M. Newton, 47, of Louisville, as Newton was attempting to turn west onto Zion Cemetery Road.

The force of the collision caused Newton’s vehicle to spin off the parkway onto the side road where it came to a rest.

The Park City Fire Department, Barren-Metcalfe Emergency Medical Services and Barren County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene.

EMS transported Williams to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment and neither Newtown nor his three passengers were injured. All of the individuals involved, including Williams, were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision, according to Deputy Mike Wood, the investigating officer.

Williams was treated and released.
