Police arrest man on robbery charge

Staff report

GLASGOW — Glasgow police arrested a man and are searching for another suspect after officers arrived to a robbery and fight in progress in an apartment early Friday. Carlos Sexton III, 20, 209 East Front St., Glasgow, was placed under arrest on several charges after police received a call from the Cleveland Manor apartments of a fight in a neighboring unit, according to a Glasgow Police Department report.

After police arrived on the scene around 1:30 a.m., Sexton and the other suspect jumped through a second story window in an attempt to flee. Officers were able to apprehend Sexton, and the other man got away from police.

As of Friday morning, police are continuing their search for the other suspect and an arrest warrant has been issued.

Prior to the officers’ arrival, the two suspects assaulted George Allison with a hammer and a camera tripod. Injuries to Allison’s head appeared to be severe, according to the report.

Barren-Metcalfe EMS transported Allison to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Sexton, who was covered in blood from the broken window, was in possession of three cell phones and multiple Valium tablets, which he had stolen, according to the report.

Sexton was lodged in the Barren County Correction Center on charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, second-degree fleeing or evading police on foot, receiving stolen property under $10,000, and third-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense. His is being held without bond.
