EDMONTON — MEETING: Metcalfe Fiscal Court

DATE: Dec. 8, 2009

ACTION: Magistrates took the following action: Approved minutes of Nov. 24 meeting; adopted a resolution to apply for a $2,000 state grant for the state spay/neuter program; adopted a resolution to apply for an energy efficiency conservation block grant; approved an order establishing a revenue line item for the Ambulance Fund for the purchase of a new ambulance; agreed to accept $100 in lieu of annual payments from the Louisville Gas and Electric Company’s oil, gas and gas storage near Center; approved monthly financial statement; approved a budget transfer in the amount of $230.06 from General Fund Reserves to the Ambulance Fund for reimbursement to refurbish an ambulance; approved a budget transfer in the amount of $2,000 from General Fund Reserves for a line item in regards to a juvenile contract; and agreed to apply for a grant through Kentucky Emergency Management for an additional storm shelter to serve as an emergency operations center.

ITEMS TABLED: Magistrates tabled action on awarding a bid for construction of a bridge on Jack Sparks Road due to changes being made in project worksheet.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Magistrates learned during the meeting the county had received $27,500 grant through Homeland Security to use toward the purchase of five air packs for the Summer Shade Volunteer Fire Department.

DISCUSSION: Magistrates discussed adding Story Road to the county road maintenance system and applying for storm ready community status.
