EDMONTON — MEETING: Edmonton City Council

DATE: Dec. 7, 2009

ACTION: Council members took the following action: Approved minutes of Nov. 2 meeting; approved on second reading an ordinance amending the city’s budget to include the $8,000 for Edmonton Memorial Park rental by the Metcalfe County Board of Education; approved on second reading an ordinance amending the city’s budget to include $2,500 donation to Honor Flight; approved on second reading an ordinance amending the city’s budget to include $1,677 for PRIDE grant; approved on first reading an ordinance updating city’s flood plain maps; agreed to allow Mayor Howard Garrett to inquire about joining the Barren-Edmonson Drug Task Force and to invite Jeff Scruggs, director of the organization to make a presentation to the city council at its next meeting.

REPORTS: Council members heard the following reports: Water, sewer, gas and parks and recreation.

DISCUSSION: Upcoming Christmas parade and procedures to follow regarding nuisance ordinance violation procedures.

RECOGNITION: This was the first meeting for new council member Danny Poynter, who filled a vacancy left by the death of councilman Coy Wilson.
