IN MINUTES: Park City Commission
PARK CITY — MEETING: Park City City Commission
DATE: Dec. 7, 2009
ACTION: Commissioners took the following action: Approved minutes of Nov. 2 meeting; approved monthly financial report; and adopted a resolution expressing opposition to moving sorting operations of 421 and 422 and 423 zip code mail from Bowling Green to Nashville, Tenn; agreed to have a representative attend Caveland Marketing Association meetings.
DISCUSSION: Commissioners discussed the following: Hiring of exterminators for city building and sidewalk projects.
ITEMS TABLED: Commissioners agreed to table action to develop a pet cemetery in Park City.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: The following announcements were made during the meeting: Job applications are now being taken for the 2010 Census. Those interested should call (866) 861-2010. The Christmas dinner for Park City firefighters will be Dec. 18 at the Lion’s Club. A breakfast with Santa for the general public will be Dec. 12 from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lion’s Club. An open house will be at City Hall Dec. 18 from 1-4 p.m.
REPORTS: Commissioners heard the following reports: Water, fire, police and Bell’s Tavern Historic Park.

Families work as team to show cattle
Judge Brian Hornback from Elizabethtown was keeping a watchful eye as both youth and adults led their show cattle around the ring in the pavilion at the Temple Hill Fairgrounds on Wednesday night.

Rebecca Hurley stood inside the show ring grooming her Boer goat before the Youth Goat Show on Tuesday afternoon at the Barren County Fair.

Six new members added to athletic hall
The seventh class of the Daily Times’ Glasgow-Barren County Athletic Hall of Fame has been selected by a committee vote. It includes six individuals who either left an athletic legacy through their accomplishments on the field or in the gym, or who shaped the athletic programs of the area.
