Man arrested after fleeing

Staff report

A Glasgow man was arrested early Wednesday morning after he fled from police and wrecked his vehicle.

Jonathan David Deschesne, 21, of 211 Sam Terry St., Glasgow, was taken into custody by Glasgow Police Officer Josh Wright following a domestic dispute complaint call to 911 around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Wright was en route to the residence on Sam Terry when he was informed by dispatch that the male subject had left in a maroon-colored passenger car.

According to a GPD report, when Wright turned onto South Franklin Street from Bunche Avenue, he observed the maroon passenger car turn left onto South Franklin Street from Ky. 63 at a high rate of speed.

Wright turned on his blue lights and attempted to pull over the vehicle, but Deschesne continued to travel past the officer at a high rate of speed and turned right onto Bunche Avenue then made a right-hand turn onto South Green Street.

Shortly after Wright lost sight of the vehicle, dispatch received a call of a wreck in front of 401 Leslie Ave. While Wright was talking with the original caller, Deschesne called her from Speedway and allegedly said that he lost control of the vehicle and ran into two curbs before taking off on foot. Deschesne was placed under arrest and transported to jail.

Deschesne was charged with a reckless driving violation, one count of first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), a class D felony, and one count of leaving the scene of an accident - failure to render aid or assistance, a class A misdemeanor.

He was lodged in the Barren County Corrections Center on a $1,500 surety bond.
