A rash of thefts over the past few months in Barren County has kept the sheriff's office busy with break-in related investigations. Several of those thefts were solved last week, totaling in excess of $25,000 worth of stolen items.
According to Detective Rusty Anderson with the Barren County Sheriff's Office, the subject identified as Angel Lewis Rosado, 30, of 400 Jimtown Terrace, Glasgow, went into a local business and sold a chain saw. The business took the subject’s name and information and then contacted the sheriff’s office to see if the item had been stolen, which it had.
The investigation and questioning of the subject led to his confession of having executed the crimes, according to a BCSO report. Rosado took officials to nine different locations throughout Barren County and showed them where and how he had gained entry to the premises.
Rosado allegedly admitted to taking items at each location, which included firearms, electronics, jewelry, gasoline, farm equipment and other miscellaneous items. Several of the items stolen were unable to be recovered, those that were, were returned to the proper owners.
The suspect was arrested by Deputy Steve Runyon and served a Barren County warrant on charges of two counts of first-degree burglary, a class B felony; seven counts of third-degree burglary; nine counts of theft by unlawful taking over $500; and first-degree criminal mischief, which are all class D felonies.
Rosado was lodged in the Barren County Correction Center on a $10,000 cash bond. This was his fourth arrest in the last six months on burglary charges.
