POLICE BRIEFS

GLASGOW — Man accused of stealing stereo

A Park City man was arrested after police received a call of a vehicle break-in early Friday morning.

Vincent P. McAlister, 25, 391 Mills Town Road, was found when police responded to 320 Bryan St. in Glasgow. When police arrived, they found McAlister in a white 1998 Nissan Altima. The car stereo was on the dashboard. When he was taken into custody, he stated that his mother had dropped him off at Walmart and while he was walking around town he decided to try and steal a stereo from a vehicle and sell it for money, according to a Glasgow Police Department report.

McAlister admitted to using a flathead screwdriver to remove the stereo from the dashboard.

The owner of the vehicle stated that the damage to his vehicle is approximately $1,000, the release said.

McAlister is charged with first-degree criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking from automobile and possession of burglary tools. He is being held at the Barren County Jail with no bond specified.

Task force destroys pot plants

The Barren-Edmonson Drug Task Force also destroyed 26 marijuana plants located on Woods Store Etoile Road on Thursday afternoon. The plants have an estimated value of $52,000.

No arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, according to a release by the DTF.

Four arrested in meth bust

The drug task force arrested four Edmonson County individuals on Wednesday night.

Tonia Harbin, Robert Harbin, Keith Goble and Randell Decker were all arrested on multiple drug charges after a complaint was made of illegal drug activity at 349B Bullock Road in the Bee Spring community, according to a release by the DTF.

Detectives found a methamphetamine lab at the residence. They also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

All four were charged with manufacturing meth, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. All charges were enhanced due to weapons being found in the residence, the release said.

Robert Harbin, Goble and Decker are being held in the Grayson County Detention Center and Tonia Harbin is being held in the Hart County Jail. They are each being held on $10,000 cash bond.

The DTF was assisted by the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office, the Brownsville Police Department and the Kyrock Fire Department.
