GLASGOW — A Glasgow man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Friday night.
Deputies with the Barren County Sheriff’s Office responded to the wreck scene approximately one mile north of the Hiseville community on Hiseville-Park Road around 8:45 p.m. Friday. Upon arrival they learned Benji D. Birge, 34, of Glasgow, was traveling north on Hiseville-Park Road in a 2001 Buick Century when he lost control of the car on the wet roadway and it skidded into the southbound lane before traveling off the side of the road and striking a tree head-on.
Birge was transported from the scene by Barren-Metcalfe Emergency Medical Service to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment of injuries and then was later transferred to the University of Louisville Hospital. His condition was unavailable at press time.
Deputy Greg Kinslow investigated and was assisted at the scene by Deputy Adam Minor.
