TOMPKINSVILLE —
A former Monroe County Middle School math teacher, who had a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old student about six years ago, was arraigned Wednesday in Monroe Circuit Court.
Angela R. Comer, 33, of Tompkinsville, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to failure to comply with the sex offender registry (first offense).
Jesse Stockton Jr., commonwealth’s attorney for Monroe County, waived formal reading of the indictment and told Monroe Circuit Court Judge Eddie Lovelace he would present discovery to Comer’s attorney, Kathryn Thomas, of Glasgow.
A pretrial conference was set for July 18.
Comer was indicted by a Monroe County grand jury on April 18. According to the indictment, Comer failed to register her current address with the Kentucky Probation and Parole Department. She was taken into custody and released on her own recognizance, according to Monroe Circuit Court records.
