MUNFORDVILLE —
A Munfordville woman was arrested Sept. 2 after an investigation into apparent physical abuse.
Crystal R. Underwood, 25, is charged with second-degree assault and first-degree criminal abuse on a juvenile, according to a release by the Kentucky State Police Post 3 in Bowling Green.
The KSP was notified by Hart County Protection & Permanency of an apparent physical abuse that occurred on Aug. 31 at a residence on Cub Run Highway, according to a release by the KSP.
The juvenile victim had been transported to Kosair's Children's Hospital for treatment of severe injuries to the abdominal area, according to Trooper Charles Swiney, public information officer for the KSP in Bowling Green. The condition of the child is unknown.
Underwood is being held at the Hart County Jail on $25,000 cash bond.
KSP to have road checks
The Kentucky State Police will be conducting road checks this weekend at the following locations: U.S. 31W at the Edmonson County line, U.S. 31W at the Hart County line, U.S. 31W at Ky. 255, the intersection of U.S. 31E and Jack Turner Road; U.S. 68 and Ky. 255; Ky. 70 and Ky. 314; Ky. 70 and Ky. 255 in Bon Ayr; Ky. 70 and Ky. 740 in Hiseville; Ky. 1846 and Old Lexington Road; and at Ky. 249, half a mile south of the Glasgow city limits.
One injured in Metcalfe County crash
A Summer Shade woman was injured Friday afternoon in a crash three miles south of Summer Shade.
Lucia Kisamore, 31, of Glasgow, was driving southbound on Ky. 163 when her vehicle was struck in the right front by the vehicle being driven by Coty Belcher, 19, of Edmonton, according to a report from Kentucky State Police in Columbia.
Kisamore was taken to Monroe Medical Center for treatment. Belcher and four passengers in his vehicle were uninjured, according to the report. Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
