8:30 p.m. EVENING UPDATE: Glasgow Water Company issues boil water advisory

GLASGOW — The Glasgow Water Company has issued a boil water advisory Sunday for about half of Barren County and much of the city of Glasgow.

The water company had a water main break on Pritchardsville Road that caused a shutdown of the main transmission line from Lucas to Glasgow in order to repair the line, according to a GWC press release.

As a result, a precautionary boil water advisory has been issued affecting customers located along the Ky. 90 west and Happy Valley Road corridor towards Cave City and everything south and west of this area from Roseville to Austin.

This includes the New Bowling Green Road corridor west of Ky. 90, the Ky. 1297 corridor west of Ky. 90 and the Scottsville Road (U.S. 31E) corridor south of Glasgow.

The boil water advisory will remain effective until further notice.

For further information, and to see maps of the affected areas, visit the GWC webpage at www.glasgowh2o.com or visit them on Facebook.
