EPB launches Round Up

GLASGOW — Glasgow Electric Plant Board customers who believe they can part with less than a dollar a month can choose to use that change now to help others who are struggling to pay their electric bill.

EPB launched its Round Up program at the first of the year, and any customer who enrolls would automatically have his or her bill rounded to the next whole dollar. So instead of $112.16, it would be $113. It would never be more than 99 cents.

EPB Superintendent Billy Ray said the money that accumulates will go to the local Community Relief Fund to be used specifically to help its clients pay their power bills.

It’s not something a customer can decide to do each time the bill is due, but there is no minimum time period to be enrolled, so the customer can opt out at any time by the same process in which he or she enrolled.

To enroll, a customer must call customer service at (270) 651-8341, drop by the office at 100 Mallory Drive in Glasgow or send an email by going to the “Contact Us” link at the top of the EPB’s website – www.glasgowepb.net – and then clicking on the link for “Billing Questions.
