GLASGOW —
The trial of a man accused in a drug trafficking case was continued once again in Barren Circuit Court.
Defense attorney Johnny Bell asked for a suppression hearing Monday in the case of David Tyler Pedigo due to the length of time it took to get a large amount of discovery in the case turned over to him for review.
Pedigo, 23, is accused of trafficking in drugs.
Pedigo was indicted late in 2011 by a Barren County grand jury for allegedly selling drugs to a confidential informants. He is accused of selling 2 grams of cocaine to an informant on Sept. 21 and selling more than 4 grams of cocaine between Sept. 20 and Sept. 24.
Pedigo also faces charges of trafficking in marijuana more than 8 ounces but less than 5 pounds (first offense), marijuana cultivation and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was indicted along with Arsenial D. Herndon, 21, of Glasgow, who is accused of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine, first offense), after being arrested on Oct. 3, 2011, on two warrants for first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (first offense).
Bell said being forced to review the large amounts of discovery in such a short period of time could possibly violate Pedigo's constitutional rights.
