Southern States board named

GLASGOW — Ralph Dunbar and Jerry Wyatt were elected to the local board at the Southern States annual membership meeting on Aug. 26.

More than 600 stockholder-members and their families attended.

Wade Barton was elected chairman/president of the local board, while Doug Furlong was named vice chairman/vice president.

Elected to the Farm Home Advisory Committee were: Kelly Furlong and Kim Gibson. Kari Button was chosen chairperson of the Farm Home Advisory Committee, and Lessa Houchen was named secretary.

The local meeting included a report by Brad Gilkey, of McDaniels. Southern States’ district manger, on major developments at the cooperative meeting during the past year.

All board members are from Glasgow.

Billy Beckham, manager, reviewed the local operations and services.

He reported total operating volume for the past year was about $14.9 million.
