GLASGOW — Herbie Conner
SCOTTSVILLE — Herbie Conner, 65, of Scottsville, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at his residence.
The Glasgow native was a employee of Dollar General Corporation for 47 years, a member of White Plains Baptist Church where he was a Sunday school teacher for the nursery class, a member of the Courthouse Sunday school class and BRADD Workforce Development. He was a son of the late Troy “Rouster” Conner and Laura Francis Phillips Conner.
He is survived by his wife: Sherri Conner, Scottsville; three daughters: Leslie Rich and husband, Steven, Shannon Threet and husband, Matt, all of Scottsville, Lacey Conner, Bowling Green; one sister: Freida Conner Jones, Frankfort; four grandchildren: Brittany Dale Rich, Jon-Thomas Conner Rich, Hunter Lane Threet and Bryson Conner Threet; and several uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Herbie Conner will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2010 at White Plains Baptist Church with Dr. Phil Rogers and Fred Rich officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church after 10 a.m. Monday until funeral time.

Lester Reid Daniel
GLASGOW — Lester Reid Daniel, 84, of Glasgow, died Friday, March 12, 2010, at the Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green.
He was born in Warren County, the son of the late Lester Garland and Gladys Lancaster Daniel. Mr. Daniel was an optician with Jean Opticians in Glasgow and was a founding member of the American Contact Lens Association of America. For 30 years Lester was the broadcast engineer for WKAY radio sports where he assisted Hank Royse with Glasgow High School sports broadcasts. He was a founding member and a past president of the Glasgow-Barren County Jaycees and was a member and an elder at First Presbyterian Church in Glasgow. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Ward Daniel; four children: William Curd Daniel and wife Rita of Bowling Green, Dawn Mosby Slaughter of Bowling Green, Alan Reid Daniel and wife Jennie of Berea, and Mark Alton Daniel of Lexington; seven grandchildren: Billie Jean Poteet, Hannah Kate Slaughter, Hillary Curd Slaughter, Jordan Dane Daniel, Aaron Nicholas Daniel, Alana Joy Daniel and Jennifer Ann Daniel; one great-grandchild: Cayden Jaxon Poteet, and four stepsons: Alan Ward of Lexington, Steve Ward of Glasgow, Ric Ward of Atlanta, Ga., and Scott Ward of St. Louis, Mo.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Old Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery at Plano. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until time for the funeral.

Carol Ann Herring
SUMMER SHADE — Carol Ann Herring, 76, of Summer Shade, formerly of Wyoming, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
She was a retired school teacher and daughter of the late William and Grace Windsor Kuntzman. She was a member of First Christian Church.
She is survived by one daughter: Martha Grider and husband, Danny, of Summer Shade; one son: Andrew Herring and wife, Maxine, of Encampment, Wyo.; five grandchildren: Andrea Bradshaw, Kyle Herring, Keith Herring, Adam Herring and Josh Grider; four great-grandchildren: Shayanne, Pete, Bruin and Bridger; two brothers: George Kuntzman and wife, Ann, of Pueblo, Colo., and William Kuntzman and wife, Sue, of Fort Collins, Colo. Numerous other relatives survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Herring; and a daughter, Kay Herring Sartin.
A celebration of life will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 15, at McMurtrey Funeral Home, Summer Shade, with services at a later date in Encampment, Wyo.

Ora E. (McDowell) Meredith
CUB RUN — Ora E. (McDowell) Meredith, 87, of Cub Run, died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.
She was the daughter of the late Edgar McDowell and the late Janie (Carroll) McDowell and wife of the late Chester P. Meredith.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, at Cherry Springs Baptist Church, with burial in Cherry Springs Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 15, and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, at Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville. Visitation continues from 10 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at Cherry Springs Baptist Church.
Jennifer Lynn Spillman Moore
HUFF — Jennifer Lynn Spillman Moore, 28, of Huff, died Friday, March 12, 2010, at her residence.
She was the daughter of Charles Norvin Spillman and Glenda Carol Shipley Spillman, of Huff. Other survivors include her husband, Robert Moore.

MUNFORDVILLE — Kenneth Peebles, 76, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.
He was the son of the late Leonard and Audrey Sharp Peebles.

TOMPKINSVILLE — Hazel Walker, 53, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.
She was the daughter of Ivy England Vibbert, of Tompkinsville, who survives, and the late Earl “Bill” Vibbert.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 16, at 2 p.m. at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with burial in Old Mount Herman Cemetery. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Monday, March 15, at the funeral home.
Keith Albert Young
AUSTIN — Keith Albert Young, 83, of Austin, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at his residence.
Born in Shelby County, he was the son of the late Van L. and Fannie Dean Peak Young. Mr. Young was a lifelong farmer and avid fisherman and was a member of Eminence Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Dorothea Sparrow Young; one daughter: Jo Brewer (Harvey) of Austin; two sons: Louis Young (Cleo) of Austin, Alan Young of Pasadena, Calif.; one brother: Burnette W. “Bill” Young (Jane) of Campbellsburg; one sister: Marjorie Brooks of Shelbyville; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Young; a sister, Helen Jones; one great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild.
