MUNFORDVILLE — Lucy Murray Bailey, 89, of Munfordville, died Monday, July 19, 2010, at her home.
She was a member of Leitchfield Crossing Baptist Church, a retired homemaker and seamstress. She was the daughter of the late Harvey Murray and Beatrice Wells Murray and the wife the late, Buford Bailey.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Brooks Funeral Home with burial in Munfordville City Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Wanda Bartley
TOMPKINSVILLE — Wanda Lee Bartley, 82, of Tompkinsville, widow of Esmond “Buddy” Bartley, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at the Monroe County Health and Rehab Center in Tompkinsville.
Her arrangements are incomplete but under the direction of Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.
Annie Evelyn Edwards
SUMMER SHADE — Annie Evelyn Edwards, 96, of Summer Shade, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow.
She was the daughter of the late Harry and Vira Mae Shirley Allbright. She was a member of the Hickory College Church of Christ.
She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Ruth Page of South Elgin, Ill., and Mariea (Wendell) DeWeese of Summer Shade; grandchildren, Vickie (Jamie) Stephens, Gloria (Bruce) Sullivan, Lacy (Grayland) Lloyd, James Timothy Coffey, Linda LeeAnn Coffey, Penny Page, Rick (Dianna) Page, Terri (Pat) Haney, Todd Page, Keana (Mike) Morgan, Doug DeWeese, Alan (Morgan) DeWeese and Jordan DeWeese; special grandchildren, Jerry and Trent Ferguson, 24 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Ruth Ferguson, and a half brother and half sister, Gail Allbright and Lawrence Allbright.
Funeral services will be Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Hickory College Church of Christ with Bro. Larry Coffey and Bro. Joey Harbison officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will begin Thursday at 1 p.m. at the church. McMurtrey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
Kathelene Shipley
LITTLETON, Colo. — Kathelene P. Shipley, of Littleton, Colo, died Sunday, July 18, 2010.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Ellis Claspell, Sr.
Survivors includes a son, James Ellis Claspell, Jr., of MS; a grand- daughter, Jenna Claspell Tagliaferri of Atlanta, GA; and nieces, nephews and scores of friends.
Kathelene moved to Littleton in 1969. She worked as a restaurant manager and volunteered at the Littleton Community Center. Funeral Service will be Thursday July 22, 1 p.m., Drinkwine Family Chapel, Littleton, Colo. Interment will follow to Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area “B.”
Roy Stinson
GLASGOW — Roy Clifton Stinson, 65, of Glasgow died Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at the Glasgow Health and Rehab Facility.
He was born in Louisville the son of the late Herbert Clifton Stinson and Lucy Farmer Stinson. He was a former employee of T. J. Samson Community Hospital respiratory therapy dept. and was a member of the Glenview Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Sutton Stinson; a son, Glenn Stinson of Louisville; a brother, James Stinson of Louisville; a sister, Mae McCreary of Marriott Island, FL, and two nieces.
A memorial service is planned and will be announced later. A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Agatha Sublett
GLASGOW — Agatha Lena Sublett, 82, of Glasgow died Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at the Barren County Health Care Center in Glasgow.
Her arrangements are incomplete but are under the direction of the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
Angela Wells
BENHAM — Angela Sue Wells, 37, of Glasgow passed away July 17, 2010 at her home.
She graduated from Meade County High School in Brandenburg, and attended Western Kentucky University where she obtained her Nursing Degree in 2007. She is survived by her daughter, Madison Wells, of Glasgow and her parents Norman R. and Betty Gilliam Wells, of Crab Orchard.
Funeral services are Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Tric City Funeral Home in Benham. Graveside services will be noon Thursday at Mountain View Cemetery in Cumberland. Visitation is Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Maurice Wolfe
GLASGOW — Maurice E. Wolfe, 85, of Glasgow, KY, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. He was born at Merry Oaks, the son of the late William Henry Wolfe and Ora Mae Hawkins Wolfe.
Mr. Wolfe was a veteran of WWII where he served in the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Harry Lee in the South Pacific. As a local businessman, he was the manager of the Standard Farm Store in Glasgow for 36 years and was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church, where he served as an usher for many years.
Maurice also was a member of the Glasgow Rotary Club, honored as a Paul Harris Fellow, and a member of the Loving Masonic Lodge at Fountain Run.
Maurice loved spending time with his family and friends and was known to always have a joke, riddle or rhyme to share. His good-hearted nature was extended to strangers as well, making friends in nearby counties who regularly traveled to the Standard Farm Store to do business. Maurice was devout in his faith and will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and service to others.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Margaret Williams Wolfe; two daughters, Cheryl Gibson and husband, Gary, of Danville, and Lisa Travis and husband, Thomas, of Lexington, KY, and five grandchildren, Mary Quinn Ramer (Jay), Simms Kerbaugh (Jennifer) and Martha Kerbaugh all of Danville and Tom and Lauren Travis of Lexington.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2010 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. and Friday morning until time for the service.
