Jimmie Royce Elmore
LUCAS – Jimmie Royce Elmore, 64, of Lucas, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was the son of the late Paul R. and Mildred Gunnells Elmore. After 41 years, he retired from SKF. He was an avid fisherman and UK Wildcats basketball fan and was a member of
Maple Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Monroe County.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Yokley Elmore; two daughters, Julie Elmore and Jennifer Elmore Bow; four grandchildren, Justin (Amanda) Smith, Jessa Poynter (Steven Fruge), Joey Poynter and Jaina Poynter; two brothers, Bobby (Sue) Elmore and Paul D. (Linda) Elmore, all of Lucas; three sisters, June Basham, of Bowling Green, and Frances Groce and Joyce Ann (Jewell) White, both of Glasgow. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. Thursday.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the funeral home to assist the family with final expenses.

Dorthy Thomas Proffitt
TOMPKINSVILLE – Dorthy Thomas Proffitt, 86, of Tompkinsville, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at her home.
Dorthy was born in Tompkinsville on May 21, 1926, a daughter of the late Mattie (Whitehead) and Felin Thomas. On June 1, 1946, she married Lonnie Proffitt. She worked at Key Work Clothes for 45 years and was a member of Cyclone Church of Christ.
Dorthy is survived by two daughters, Brenda (Jerry) Turner, of Tompkinsville, and Glenda (Charlie) Taylor, of Lafayette, Tenn.; and one son, Larry (Lena) Proffitt, of Tompkinsville. Dorthy is also survived by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Dorthy was preceded in death by her parents, Mattie (Whitehead) and Felin Thomas; her husband, Lonnie Proffitt; two brothers, Tom and Arlie “R.P.” Thomas; and three sisters, Francis Proffitt, Ruby Isenberg and Laura Birge.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home with Charles Smith officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, from 12 noon until 9 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
Wilma Jo Lee Lyons
DETROIT, Mich. – Wilma Jo Lee Lyons, 76, formerly of Glasgow, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at her home in Detroit.
She is survived locally by a niece, Linda Benbow, of Glasgow.
Funeral service will be noon, Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at Word of Life Tabernacle, 1149 Hilton Street, Ferndale, Mich.
Wilson-Akins Funeral Home, 17500 Fenkell Avenue, Detroit, Mich., is in charge of the arrangements.

SCOTTSVILLE – Reverend Nathan E. Richards, 57, of Scottsville, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at the Medical Center at Scottsville.
The Allen County native was the son of Charles Edward Richards Jr. and Dorothy Ann Chandler Richards.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ogles Richards, of Scottsville.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Goad Funeral Home, with Brother Roy Shockley officiating, and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after noon Thursday at Goad Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Haven For Change and Brighter Side. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
Bernice Joyce Stevens
CUB RUN – Bernice Joyce Stevens, 75, of Cub Run, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at her residence in Cub Run.
She is survived by her husband, Ford Stevens.
The family will have a private visitation. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Saint Benedict Catholic Church, with Friar Brian Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Saint Benedict Cemetery, in Wax. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Home, in Munfordville.
