Harold Sledge Boucher

GLASGOW — Harold Sledge Boucher, 93, formerly of Scottsville, died at 11:32 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

The Warren County native was a farmer, former employee of Brannen Tobacco Warehouse, a former committee member for the ASCS office, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, member of Trammel Fork Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, and was a 62-year-member of Graham Lodge No. 208 F&AM; where he served as past master. He was a son of the late Oliver G. Boucher and Effie Ora Sledge Boucher and husband of the late Ovaleta Smith Boucher.

He is survived by one daughter: Dr. Melissa Dennison and husband, Dr. Kenneth Dennison, Glasgow; one brother: James Boucher and wife, Maxine, Bowling Green; one sister: Hazel Costello Wyatt, Scottsville; three grandchildren: Benjamin Dennison, Lexington, Barrett Dennison, Bowling Green, and Blair Dennison, Glasgow.

He was preceded in death by one daughter: Cheryl Elizabeth Boucher.

Funeral services for Harold Sledge Boucher will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at Goad Funeral Home with Brother Will Tom Brown officiating. Burial will be in Crescent Hill Cemetery with military honors by the Barren County DAV. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 8 a.m. Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home, Scottsville. Halfway Lodge No. 852 will conduct masonic rites at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Goad Funeral Home. All master masons wishing to participate should be at the lodge at 6 p.m.

Donald R. Catron

GLASGOW — Donald R. Catron, 69, died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital after a sudden illness.

He was born in Monticello, a son of the late Cress and Lessie Denney Catron. Donald and his wife, Loretta, owned and operated Key Cleaners and Vanity Salon in Glasgow. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corp.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Tarter Catron; five children: Ronnie Catron of Glasgow, Sherry Schmidt (Tom) of Hopkinsville, Chris Catron of Honolulu, Hawaii, Matthew Catron of Glasgow, and Patricia Catron of Glasgow; four grandchildren: Jordan, Thomas and Jaccob Schmidt and Mallorie Catron; a great-grandson: Owen Schmidt; two brothers: Kenneth Catron (Betty) and Earl Catron (Loretta), all of Monticello; a sister: Hazel Hicks of Monticello; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and Thursday morning until time for the service.

Ethel F. Fant

GLASGOW — Ethel F. Fant, 86, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at NHC Healthcare Facility in Glasgow.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but are under the direction of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.



Melvin ‘Bee’ Chaplin

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — Melvin “Bee” Chaplin, 80, formerly of Glasgow, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, in Noblesville. Born in Barren County he was the son of the late Clyde and Elsie Daffron Chaplin. Mr. Chaplin was a retired forklift operator with United Coloring Paint Manufactory in Indianapolis, Ind., and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his sister: Barbara Hogan Cade of Louisville; niece: Janet Hogan-Rusher of Louisville, caregiver who took care of Mr. Chaplin for many years during his illness, Ron Gill of Noblesville, Ind.; several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 16 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at the funeral home.

Motie Lee Fox

GLASGOW — Motie Lee Fox, 91, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

Born in Monroe County, she was the daughter of the late Hershel B. and Lonia E. Davis Isenberg and wife of the late Ernest Martin Fox. Mrs. Fox was a homemaker and a member of Westwood Church of Christ in Glasgow.

Survivors include three sons: Roy Fox (Linda) of Park City, James H. Fox (Loretta) of Bowling Green, and Lewis Fox (Barbara) of Okeechobee, Fla.; one daughter: Wanda Willoughby of Bowling Green; seven grandchildren: Gary Fox and Joe Fox, both of Scottsville, Jimmy Fox of Oakland, Tammy Dorris of Bowling Green, Jeffrey Fox of Fayetteville, N.C., Stephanie Green of Bowling Green, and Jared Willoughby of Murray; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Marvin Isenberg of Flippin, and Rancel Isenberg of French Lick, Ind.; four sisters: Reba Crowe of Fountain Run, Anna Dean Turner and Pearl Thomas, both of Tompkinsville, and Allene Wood of Mount Hermon, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edwin and Wendell Isenberg.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Isenberg Cemetery in Monroe County. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Grace Dean Madison

LOUISVILLE — Grace Dean Madison, 99, formerly of Rocky Hill, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, in Louisville.

She was the daughter of the late Q.B. Ford and Leura Spradling Ford and wife of the late Charles G. Madison and William E. Madison.

Funeral services will be noon Friday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Rocky Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, at the funeral home.



Ruby Nell Fancher Smith

LEXINGTON — Ruby Nell Fancher Smith, 87, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at Northpoint Lexington Healthcare Center.

She was a native of Hart County, a retired seamstress from the former Horse Cave Manufacturing and Kentucky Pants Company. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Glasgow.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Bessie Scott Light; her husbands, the Rev. Carl Fancher and John David Smith; a daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and James Moore; and two brothers, C.L. and J.T. Light.

Survivors include a daughter: Sandra Fancher Wilson and her husband Doug of Lexington; three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and one nephew: Keith Light of Glasgow.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave, with burial in Houk Cemetery in Metcalfe County. Visitation at Winn Funeral Home is from 2 until 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. until funeral time on Thursday.

ROCKFIELD — Leroy Lindsey, 78, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at The Medical Center. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Bethel Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 until 8 p.m. today (Tuesday) and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.



TOMPKINSVILLE — Elizabeth Johnson Miller, 79, Tompkinsville, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green. Funeral services will be today (Tuesday) at 2 p.m. at Tompkinsville First Baptist Church with burial in Monroe County Memorial Lawns. Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, is in charge of arrangements.



GLASGOW — Tristram Edwin Perkins, 87, of Glasgow, died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010 at the NHC Healthcare Facility in Glasgow. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation begins at 3 p.m. today (Monday) at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 500 S. Green St., Glasgow, KY 42141.



SMITHS GROVE — Albert Whitley, 75, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at The Hospice Center in Bowling Green. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Shiloh Baptist Church with burial in Shiloh Cemetery. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
