GLASGOW — Charles David Brower

BOWLING GREEN – Charles David Brower, 75, of Bowling Green, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, in Bowling Green.

He was the son of the late Richard M. Brower and Ruby Parks Brower.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joann Broeckling Brower.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery #2. Visitation is 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

 

Barbara Jean Blair Gossett

MUNFORDVILLE – Barbara Jean Blair Gossett, 70, of Munfordville, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

She was the wife of first husband, the late Maxie Crain; second husband, the late Harrison Dodson Jr. and third husband, James Gossett.

She was the daughter of the late Guy Blair and Dora Mae Tinsley Blair.

Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 21, after 9 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church in Cave City. Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at 12 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church in Cave City, with burial in New Hope Baptist Cemetery in Cave City. Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville is in charge of the arrangements.



Janice Carol Saltsman Pierce

GLASGOW – Janice Carol Saltsman Pierce, 69, Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, Dec.19, 2012, at home, after a short illness.

Born in Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Coy Lee and Mary Susan Coomer Saltsman. She was preceded in death also by a brother, James William Saltsman. She belonged to Basil’s Chapel United Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James A. Pierce; two sons, Rocky Pierce and friend Raymond Warren, of Glasgow, Kevin Pierce and fiancée Sheila Armstrong, of Franklin; one grandson, Hunter Pierce, and wife Brooke; two great-grandsons, Skiler and Preston Pierce, all of Glasgow; one brother, C. L. Saltsman (Judy) of Columbus, Ind.; two sisters, Alice (Gilbert) Piper and Connie (Danny) Thomas, all of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Neal’s Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

 

Phillip Trivett

MOUNT HERMON – Phillip Trivett, 87, of the Mount Hermon community, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Monroe Health and Rehab Center in Tompkinsville.

His survivors include his wife, Rosie Trivett, of Tompkinsville.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Fountain Run Funeral Home; burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday 4 to 8 p.m. at Fountain Run Funeral Home and will resume on Saturday after 8 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Bethlehem Cemetery Fund.

SERVICES

COVE HOLLOW – Alma Brooks, 87, of the Cove Hollow community of Edmonson County died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Cove Hollow United Baptist Church with burial in Cove Hollow Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday after 9 a.m. at the church.



GEORGETOWN – Larry David Hanes, 55, husband of Cyndi (Lancaster) Hanes, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012. Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Georgetown First United Methodist Church. Following the service in Georgetown there will be a visitation from 3 to 4 p.m. at Patton Funeral Home in Park City with a service at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Park City.



GLASGOW – Kenneth Huff, 81, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at the U of L Hospital in Louisville. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens and military honors provided by D.A.V. Chapter 20, of Glasgow.



LINWOOD – Hobert Maulden, 82, of Linwood, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at the Caverna Memorial Hospital emergency room. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maulden Family Cemetery at Linwood. Visitation will be after 8 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
