Barbara Ann ‘Bobbie’ Ganter

GLASGOW — Barbara Ann “Bobbie” Ganter, 71, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at Barren County Health Care Facility.

She was born in Barren County, a daughter of the late Ernest Porter Bush and Mildred Elizabeth Bishop Bush and was the wife of the late George Carr Ganter Jr.

Barbara was a local hairdresser for 35 years and was also the lunchroom manager for Glasgow High School for 12 years. She had been an employee of Awards Inc. and was a member of the Scottie Band Parents where she served as the Uniform Chairperson. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter: Roxanne Cloyd and her husband Michael of Glasgow; two step-children: George Ganter of Indiana and Kathy Ganter of Washington; a sister: Becky Barrick and husband Bobby of Glasgow; a nephew: Ricky Jo Barrick (Norie); a niece: Kylie Garrett (Daniel); and great-nieces and nephews: Jesse, Joshua and Sarah Garrett and Amber Barrick.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

David Ralston Jordan

GLASGOW — David Ralston Jordan, 73, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital after a sudden illness.

The Barren County native was the son of the late Louis H. and Ruth Jordan.

He was employed by Bailey and Grissom Real Estate Company and was a member of the National Board of Realtors. Mr. Jordan was a member of Glasgow Baptist Church, a member of Allen Lodge No. 24 F&AM; in Glasgow and a former member of the Kentucky National Guard.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Farris Jordan; one daughter: Laura Ruth Brown (Sammy); one son: David Mark Jordan (Jennifer), all of Glasgow; three grandchildren: David Alan Brown, Victoria Jordan and Andrew L. Brown; two step grandchildren: Justin Wells (Linsey) and Tyler Wells; and an aunt: Dorothy Jordan Davidson.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m.

Genie Franklin Murray

GAMALIEL — Genie Franklin Murray, 85, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at The Palace in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn.

He was the son of the late Tiluis Andrew Murray and Norma Biles Murray. Survivors include his wife, Nellie Coulter Murray, of Gamaliel.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Strode Funeral Home, Gamaliel Chapel, with burial in New Liberty Cemetery in Monroe County. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Sadlers Chapel Methodist Church.



Audrey Mae Peebles

UPTON — Audrey Mae Peebles, 93, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at her son’s home in Upton.

She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Sharp and Grace Kessinger Sharp and wife of the late Leonard Peebles.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home, Munfordville, with burial in the Dorsey Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and after 8 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.



Danny R. Sherfey

GLASGOW — Danny R. Sherfey, 53, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital.

Bertie L. Brownfield

GLASGOW — Bertie L. Brownfield, 87, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at her home.

BON AYR — Earl Lee Fisher, 78, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today (Monday) at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Poplar Log Cemetery.



MOUNT HERMON — Timothy Alan Payne, 33, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at the Monroe County Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today (Monday) at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens.



PARK CITY — Harry Lynn “Joe” Perkins, 95, passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at Barren County Health Care Center, Glasgow. Visitation will be Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel, and Sunday from noon until 2 p.m. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery in Park City. BOWLING GREEN — Wanda Walker, 83, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at the Magnolia Village Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bowling Green. Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, Jan. 12, at T.W. Crow & Son Funeral Home, Scottsville, with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
