Judelle Pemberton Bunnell
HODGENVILLE — Judelle Pemberton Bunnell, 86, of Hodgenville, passed away Monday, July 5, 2010, at her home.
She was born in Jefferson County. She was a homemaker, former employee of Washington Manufacturing Company of Cave City, Horse Cave Manufacturing and Kountry Kitchen restaurant in Hardyville. She also was a member of Larue County Church of Christ and loved flower gardening.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years: Sydney W. Bunnell of Hodgenville; six children: Sydney M. Bunnell and wife Sue of Cave City, James W. Bunnell and wife Jo Nell of Decatur, Ala., Judith Howell and husband William Nelson of Cave City, David L. Bunnell and wife Janice of Hardyville, Patricia Rippy and husband Billy of Russellville, and Marilyn King and husband Ernie of Bowling Green; 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; sister: Marilyn Hogan and husband Genie of Cave City; sister-in-law: Lou Reynolds of Cave City; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bunnell was preceded in death by her parents, Munford Buford Pemberton and Grace Galloway Pemberton Reynolds; her stepfather, B.R. (Burt) Reynolds Sr., stepmother, Edith Neff Pemberton; a brother, B.R. Reynolds Jr.; and a sister-in-law, Geneva Reynolds.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2010, in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave, with burial in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visiting hours will be 4 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Lester Ray Cain
TOMPKINSVILLE — Lester Ray Cain, 87, of Tompkinsville, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Monroe County Medical Center, Tompkinsville.
He was a son of the late Henry Thomas Cain and Merkie Anderson Cain.
Survivors include his wife, Nova Scott Cain of Tompkinsville.
Funeral services were Monday, July 5, at 11 a.m. at Strode Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with burial in Bailey Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Bailey Cemetery.
Roy Rudolph Carlson Jr.
GLASGOW — Roy Rudolph Carlson Jr., of Glasgow, died Monday, July 5, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
Born in Rock Island, Ill., he was the son of the late Roy R. and Evelyn Sue Wilson Carlson. Mr. Carlson was of the Baptist faith and retired self-employed in landscape construction.
Survivors include two daughters: Julie Veteto and husband Steve and Natalie Carlson, both of Glasgow; one son: Roy Rudolph Carlson III of Washington state; four grandchildren: Andrew, Dalton, Steven and Kasey; three sisters: June Rogers and Sandy Carlson both of Illinois and Pat Buckanck of Texas.
There will be no services or visitation at this time, but a memorial service will be at a later date in Illinois. Family chose cremation.

Phillip A. England
CAVE CITY — Phillip A. England, 80, of Cave City, died Friday, July 2, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.
He was born Sept. 18, 1929, in Breeding to the late Porter and Laura Delpha Roach England. He was a member of Grider Memorial Baptist Church, a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict and was retired from Ford Motor Company.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ruby McKinney England of Cave City; two sons and daughters-in-law: Greg and Christie England of Park City, and Chris and Lori England of Shelbyville; four grandchildren: Matt, Kim, Christopher and Justin England; and one great-grandson, Jonathan England.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville St., Columbia, with Brother Kenneth Grizzle and Brother Jeff Lile officiating. Burial will be in Fudge Cemetery with full military honors presented by VFW Post 6097. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the donor’s favorite charity.
Gracie Mae Green
CAVE CITY — Gracie Mae Green, 96, of Cave City, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Hart County Health Care Center.
She was born in Mount Vernon, the daughter of the late William Thomas and Mary Stella Marler Hayes. Her husband was the late Rev. Steely Siler Green. Mrs. Green was a homemaker and member of Cave City Christian Church.
Survivors include one son: Steely Green Jr. and wife Jan of Cave City; two daughters: Anita Green and Juanita McLamb, both of Cave City; four grandchildren: Scott Green, Veda Williamson, Michael McLamb and Teresa Barbee; one great-grandchild, Faith McLamb; and one sister: Ada Randolph of Hillsboro, Ohio.
A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. A memorial service at Cave City Christian Church will immediately follow the graveside service. Visitation will be 6 until 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home in Glasgow.
Alternate expressions of sympathy can be made to Cave City Christian Church.

David C. Horton
HARDYVILLE — David C. Horton, 52, of Hardyville, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010, in Magnolia.
He was the son of the late Virgil Horton and the late Virginia Marcott.
There will be no funeral or visitation. The family chose cremation.

Kenneth Meadows
HORSE CAVE — Kenneth Meadows, 78, of Horse Cave, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Britthaven of Bowling Green.
He was a native of Barren County, retired engineer for General Telephone Company, U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Meshack Baptist Church.
Mr. Meadows was preceded in death by his parents, James Love Meadows and Martha Trulock Meadows; three brothers and one sister.
Survivors Include his wife: Wanda Meadows of Horse Cave; three daughters: Shelia Wood, Kathy Hawkins and Jessica Meadows, all of Glasgow; three sons: Kenneth Dale Meadows, Rodney Lee Meadows Sr. and Stephen Meadows, all of Glasgow; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; one stepson: Kelly Short and wife Kim of Bonnieville; a brother: Roy Lee Meadows of Georgia; two sisters: Jewell Poynter of Louisville and Juanita Meadows of Canmer; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home with burial in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visiting hours will be 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Esta Mowery
GLASGOW — Esta Mowery, 89, died at Glasgow Health & Rehabilitation Center, Sunday, July 4, 2010, due to lung cancer.
She was born on Jan. 10, 1921, in Cave City, She was the daughter of Curtis Buster, was an employee of the L & N Railroad in Cave City, and Annie Middleton Buster, The decedent grew up in Cave City and attended the old Caverna High School. She served in the WAVES, a women’s division of the U.S. Navy in World War II, and she served in the enlisted ranks and attained the final rank of Specialist (S) Second Class. She was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1947. During World War II, she was stationed part of the time in New York City where she attended Hunter College. During World War II, she wrote some articles on President Franklin Roosevelt which were first published in the Louisville Courier Journal, some of which were later republished in Time Magazine. After leaving the Navy in 1947, she married James Mowery Jr., who was then a law student, and who later became a defense trial lawyer for insurance companies. Two children were born of the marriage, a daughter, Brenda Gayle, and a son, James Mowery III. She was a homemaker in Springfield, Va., during most of the 1950s. The marriage ended in divorce in 1961. Esta Mowery and her children returned to Cave City in 1961. Esta and her children moved to Glasgow in 1964. Esta Mowery was active in the Headstart program in Glasgow in the mid to late 1960s. Thereafter, she was active in the Mormon Church in Glasgow and also in the Democratic party.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and by the following, a brother, Ray Buster; a sister, Jessal Buster Mills; a brother, Frank Buster; and a sister, Ruby Buster McCubbin.
Survivors are her daughter, Brenda Gayle Mowery of Louisville; a son: James Mowery III of Alexandria, Va.; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Buster of Louisville; several nieces and nephews in Kentucky.
Visitation is in progress until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, and continues Wednesday, July 7, at 7:30 a.m. at Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, at Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel in Cave City. Burial will be in Cave City Cemetery.
Evelyn Virginia South
GLASGOW — Evelyn Virginia South, 82, of Glasgow, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
She was born in Glasgow, the daughter of the late Robert Dewbrew and Rosie Barton Tinsley. Mrs. South had been an employee of the Wells-Grinstead Insurance Company and Pedigo-Lessenberry Insurance Company. She was a member of Glasgow Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett L. South; two children, Joe Anthony South and Shelley Lynn South; a brother, Mitchell Dewbrew; and a sister, Viola Dewbrew.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Shelton of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; a son, Marcus Ellis South and wife Gina of Summerville, S.C.; eight grandchildren, including Lincoln and Carter Bragg whom she raised; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Tinsley and wife Helen Jean of Glasgow, and a sister, Helen Trent and husband Billy Ray of Horse Cave.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time for the service.

Georgia Louise Reynolds Stevenson
HORSE CAVE — Georgia Louise Reynolds Stevenson, 96, of Horse Cave, died Sunday, July 4, 2010, at Caverna Memorial Hospital in Horse Cave.
She was the daughter of the late Arthur Logan Reynolds and Minnie Idell Wilson Reynolds and wife of the late R.E. Stevenson.
A public graveside service will be 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery with burial to follow. Visitation will be private for the Stevenson family.
Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave, is in charge of arrangements.
