Grace Brooks

HARDYVILLE — Grace Brooks, 92, passed away at 8:10 p.m., Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow.

She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and retired from Union Underwear Company in Campbellsville after 23 years.

Survivors include a daughter: June Huffman and husband, Vander, Hardyville; granddaughter: Cathy Holley, great-grandson: Kyle Holley, and great-granddaughter: Megan Holley, all of Knob Lick; a sister: Lura Walsh, Hodgenville; and several nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Franklin Vance and Lillie Curtis Close Vance; her husband, the Rev. H.T. Brooks in 2000; two brothers, Lee Vance and Curtis Vance; and a sister, Dorothy Hornback.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at Winn Funeral Home Chapel, Horse Cave, with burial in Center Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Patricia Ann Bishop Ewing

LOUISVILLE – Patricia Ann Bishop Ewing, 69, formerly of Glasgow, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington after a brief illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Ewing, and her parents, Taylor Lasur and Mary Kidd Bishop.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. EST Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST Thursday at the funeral home.

TOMPKINSVILLE — Uldean Thompson Emmert, 92, passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Strode Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with burial in Monroe County Memorial Lawn.

GLASGOW — Bernice Alline Christie Oakes, 84, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Hiseville Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the funeral home.

GLASGOW — James Murrell Steenbergen, 72, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.

GLASGOW — Shelley Lynn Willis, 38, formerly of Burkesville, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at her home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, in Burkesville, with burial in Burkesville Cemetery.
