GLASGOW —  

John Curtis Childres

BOWLING GREEN – John Curtis Childres, 29, of Bowling Green, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, in Nashville, Tenn.

The Warren county native was the son of Timothy Walter Childres and Nancy Lynn Johnson Childres, who survives, of Morgantown. John was a loving son, brother, husband and father. He was a graduate of Butler County High School class of ’01 and a graduate of Bowling Green Tech as an Automotive Technician, class of ’03. John Curtis loved to fish, hunt and made a friend everywhere he went.

He is survived by his wife of five years, Katherine Underwood Childres, Bowling Green; two daughters, Harley Mariee Childres, of Greenville, Jolynn Rena Childres, of Bowling Green; and a son, Tristan Lee Childres, Bowling Green; brother, Charles Childres, wife Samantha, of Morgantown; and sister, Jessica Montgomery, husband Josh, of Horse Branch. Nieces and nephews include; Ryan and Tyler Norvil and Raven Childres, a maternal grandmother, Wanda Johnson, of Morgantown; mother and father-in-law, Mike and Becky Underwood, of Glasgow, and sister-in-law, Jennifer Norvil, of Lebanon, Tenn.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many loved friends.

Visitation is in progress at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel, and will continue Saturday from 12 noon to 2 p.m. with funeral at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial at Bowling Green Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.



Dwight Arnold England

EDMONTON – Dwight Arnold England, 82, of Edmonton, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at the Metcalfe County Health Care Center.

He was a retired truck driver and a son of the late Hastel and Brentz Jeffries England. He was a member of the South Edmonton Church of Christ and a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a past commander and member of Post 6281 in Edmonton.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Hood England; one daughter, Marla Jean Cahill (Ivan Arney), of Guston; three sons, David England, of Madison, N.C., Jeffrey H. England, of Edmonton, and Richard Joseph (Lonnie) England, of Indiana; one sister, Ollie Branstetter, of Glasgow; six grandchildren, Jamie Fowler, Victoria Ann England, David Michael England, Matthew Dwight Cahill, Mitchell Thomas Cahill and Joseph Hastell England; two great-grandchildren, Noah Patrick Cahill and Khloe Fowler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Hollis England, and one grandchild, Rebecca Ann England.

Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 17, at 1 p.m., at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Aaron Trimm officiating. Burial will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Garden. Visitation will begin Sunday, Dec. 16, at 1 p.m., at the funeral home.

Ellen K. Noel

MUNFORDVLLE – Ellen K. Noel, 58, of Munfordville, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at her home.

She was a native of West Virginia and the daughter of the late Aldie and Glence Meadows Collins. Ellen is survived by her husband, Robbie Noel.

Funeral services for Ellen K. Noel will be 1 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home, with burial in Wilkerson Temple Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to a local humane society.



Bruce Nunn

EDMONTON – Bruce Nunn, 64, of Edmonton, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Hospice of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green.

He was the son of the late Fred and Zelpha Rogers Nunn. Bruce was employed at Eaton, Dana and Bendix Corp for 37 years. He was a member, deacon and choir member of the Edmonton Baptist Church. Bruce served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran.   

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Daphna Kinnaird Nunn; five nieces, Gina Rutledge, of Glasgow, Ginger Witherspoon, of Smiths Grove, Selena Callaghan, of Tennessee, Sarah Hutcheson, of Glasgow, and Rhonda Clark, of Edmonton. He is also survived by several great-nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Freddie Nunn.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, with burial in Edmonton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Saturday and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

GLASGOW — Jackie Allen Coulter, 53, of Edmonton and formerly of Glasgow, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at his home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Bristletown Cemetery. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to Bristletown Cemetery, 1443 Les Turner Road, Cave City, KY 42127.



TOMPKINSVILLEā€ˆ— Charles Edward Gramlin, 61, of Tompkinsville, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at Monroe Health & Rehab Center in Tompkinsville. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial in Monroe County Memorial Lawn in Tompkinsville. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Milltown Baptist Church Building Fund or Monroe Health and Rehab Center.



INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — William Taylor Roddy, 78, of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of Tompkinsville, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at Saint Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial in Old Mount Hermon Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. Saturday until time of service. Memorials may be made to Old Mount Hemon Cemetery.
