BOWLING GREEN — Sybil Beckham Borders died Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at The Medical Center.
She was the daughter of the late Virgil Beckham and Lois Stone Beckham and wife of the late Alvin Borders.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 5, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery. Visitation is 4:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Irene Stinson Coulter
GAMALIEL — Irene Stinson Coulter, 86, died Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.
She was the daughter of the late Harvey Stinson and Tishie Bohannon Stinson and wife of the late Ewin Coulter.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but under the direction of Strode Funeral Home, Inc., Gamaliel Chapel.
Omer ‘Pug’ Gentry
MOUNT HERMON — Omer “Pug” Gentry, 94, of Mount Hermon, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.
He was born in Monroe County on March 24, 1915, to the late Varnie Gentry and Vennie Proffitt Gentry. He was a retired farmer and former co-owner of Gentry Brothers Service Station. He was a veteran of World War II and the widower of Grace Hammer Gentry.
He is survived by two sisters: Beadie Williams of Glasgow, and Mae Van Greer of Lexington; several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by five brothers: Huston J., Hazel, Avery, Lester and Hubert Gentry; and a sister, Beulah Billingsley.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial in the Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday.

GLASGOW — Rita Rose Oswald, 88, of Glasgow, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at NHC Healthcare Center in Glasgow. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Indianola, Neb., with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. at Carpenter-Breland Funeral Home in McCook, Neb. A rosary service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. There will be no services locally. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
FOUNTAIN RUN — James Eldon Veach, 80, of Fountain Run, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2010, at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be today (Thursday) at 1 p.m. at Fountain Run First Baptist Church in Fountain Run, with interment in the Neal Cemetery in Flippin.
