Naomi Lorene Booher

BREEDING — Naomi Lorene Booher, 74, died Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Walden Cope Feeback.

She is survived by five sons and one grandchild; special caregiver, Irene (Dennis) Horning of Breeding; and special cousins, Shelvy McCoy, of Summer Shade, and Barbara Melton, of Glasgow.

Graveside services were Sunday, Aug. 16, at 3:30 p.m. at the White Hill Cemetery in Cumberland County.

McMurtrey Funeral Home, Summer Shade, was in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to help with funeral expenses.



Ben B. Carbo

SMITHS GROVE — Ben B. Carbo, 88, died Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at his home.

He was born in Bluejay, W.Va., the son of the late Bernard and Candida Berezo Carbo. Mr. Carbo was a farmer and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Maggie Jean Smith Carbo; and several nieces and nephews, including Donald Pedigo and Glenna Allen.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with cremation to follow the service. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 until 7 p.m.

Everette J. Cox

CUB RUN — Everette J. Cox, 84, passed away Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, in Bowling Green.

He was born Jan. 7, 1925, in Edmonson County to the late Ed Cox and the late Ellie Kerr Cox and was married to Wyvon Trautmann Cox. He was a member of the Cub Run Masonic Lodge No. 910, a member and deacon of Cherry Springs Missionary Baptist Church, worked as a maintenance supervisor for Mammoth Cave National Park and was a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Wyvon Trautmann Cox of Cub Run; two sons: Ronnie Cox (Barbara) of Cub Run, and Gerald Cox (Teresa) of Munfordville; one brother: George Cox of Bryant, Ohio; six sisters: Ruby Ramsey of Cave City, Ora Denton of Horse Cave, Mary Jones of Park City, Lucy Logsdon, Edith Logsdon and Hazel Hunt, all of Cave City; several nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; four step-great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Melvin Lee Cox; and one sister, Ethel Meredith.

Services will be officiated by Brother Keith Sanders, Brother Leland Childress and Brother Jerry Patton on Thursday, Aug. 20, at 1 p.m. in Patton Funeral Home’s Brownsville Chapel. Burial will be in Berry Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

GLASGOW — Cora Evans, 83, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at Glasgow Health Care & Rehab. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with burial in Mount Nebo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.



HORSE CAVE — James C. (Jim) Kennedy, 62, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at Caverna Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be conducted for family and friends Saturday at 5 p.m. at 1929 Youngers Creek Road in New Haven. His body was cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave.



HARDYVILLE — Gladys Ann Philpott, 75, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at Glenview Health Care in Glasgow. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, Cave City, with burial in Cosby Cemetery.



CASA, Ark. — Mike Simpson, 59, formerly of Beaumont, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at River Valley Medical Center. Memorial services will be Saturday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m. at Beaumont United Methodist Church. Cremation arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle, Ark.
