Geneva Irene Brannon

BOWLING GREEN — Geneva Irene Brannon, 80, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late John Phillips and Eliza Sparks Phillips and wife of the late Celston Brannon.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery No. 2. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.



Anna Louise Jackson

GLASGOW — Anna Louise Jackson, 79, of Etoile Road, Glasgow, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, at her home.

Miss Jackson was the daughter of the late Johnny P. and Grace Mae Smith Jackson. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by a brother: Mitchell Jackson of Fountain Run; a niece: Brenda Bandy; and a nephew: Kenneth Jackson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Reid B. Jackson.

Miss Jackson was buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation and a memorial service may be scheduled at a later date.

James H. Miller

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — James H. Miller, 73, passed away Monday, Aug.17, 2009, in Indianapolis.

He was born in Hazard on March 13, 1936, to Harrison and Sylvia Hudson Miller. He was employed as a truck driver for Interstate Steel, was a member of Fountain Square Church of Christ in Indianapolis and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Hammer Miller of Indianapolis; one son: Mark Miller; a grandson: Mark Allen Miller; one brother: Jack Miller; two sisters: Emmazelle Grigsby and Mary Hickman. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, George Grigsby, J.R. Grigsby and Gabe Risner.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Aug. 21, at 11 a.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Monroe County.

Friends may call at Strode Funeral Home after 4 p.m. today (Thursday).

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

GLASGOW — Cora Evans, 83, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at Glasgow Health Care & Rehab. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with burial in Mount Nebo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.



HORSE CAVE — James C. (Jim) Kennedy, 62, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at Caverna Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be conducted for family and friends Saturday at 5 p.m. at 1929 Youngers Creek Road in New Haven. His body was cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave.



CASA, Ark. — Mike Simpson, 59, formerly of Beaumont, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at River Valley Medical Center. Memorial services will be Saturday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m. at Beaumont United Methodist Church. Cremation arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle, Ark.
