GLASGOW — Ben Bartley
TOMPKINSVILLE — Ben Bartley, 82, died Monday, March 8, 2010, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green.
The Monroe County native was born March 17, 1927, the son of the late Ambros Leslie “Jack” Bartley and Emma Lola “Dibbi” Strode Bartley. He was a veteran of World War II, a retired farmer and factory worker and a member of Sulphur Lick Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Maerene Proffitt Bartley, whom he married on Dec. 23, 1948, in Franklin; two sons: Dale Bartley of Tompkinsville, and Terry Bartley of Portland, Tenn.; three daughters: Sandie Bartley and Faye Warren, both of Portland, Tenn., and Dawn Emberton of Tompkinsville; two sisters: Inelle Hammer and Edith Cleary, both of Tompkinsville; two sisters-in-law: Margaret Bartley and Corine Bartley, both of Tompkinsville; four step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Jackie Bartley; three brothers, Billy Bartley, Leslie Bartley and Lynn Bartley; three sisters, Mary Ida Thompson, Nova Pearl Bartley and Dollie McMillian; and one step-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 11, at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with Brother Loy Milam officiating. Burial will be in the Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Military graveside service provided by Glasgow DAV Chapter 20.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, at the funeral home.
William Glenn Creek
GLASGOW — William Glenn Creek, 83, of Glasgow, died Monday, March 8, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Fountain Run, the son of the late Joe Asbury Creek and Betty Brown Creek.
He had lived in Indianapolis for 37 years and was retired from Inland Container Co. in Indianapolis after 34 years of service. He had lived in Glasgow since 1982. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church at Flippin.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Pitcock Creek; a sister: Catherine Gosnell of Scottsville; a Godchild, Martha Creek of Louisville; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Gumm Smith and Marie Calvert; and a brother, Joe Hugh Creek.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Neal Cemetery at Flippin. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until time for the service.

Charles Buddy Logsdon
CAVE CITY — Charles Buddy Logsdon, 75, Cave City, passed away at his home on Monday, March 8, 2010, after waging a one year battle with pancreatic cancer.
The Hart County native was the son of the late Frank and Violet Mae England Logsdon. Buddy retired from Frito-Lay in 1989 after 31 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. He was a member of the Cave City Church of Christ where he served as an elder since 2005.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Jerry Doyle Logsdon, Cave City; a son: Charles Thomas (Lisa) Logsdon of Noblesville, Ind.; a daughter: Trena (Donnie) Burchett of Glasgow; four grandsons: Ben Wilhoite, Jeremy Wilhoite, Charlie Logsdon and Jake Logsdon; a great-grandson: Skylar Wilhoite; a great-granddaughter: Kaleigh Wilhoite; two brothers: Bob (Barbara) Logsdon, Cave City, Kenneth (Kate) Logsdon, Dallas, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Logsdon; and an infant brother.
Funeral services with Brother Wayne Hatcher and Brother Don Smyth officiating will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 12, at Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel with burial in the Cave City Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be after 10 a.m. Thursday.

Gladys Taylor Hood
TOMPKINSVILLE — Gladys Taylor Hood, 87, of Tompkinsville, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Monroe Health & Rehab Center in Tompkinsville.
She was the daughter of the late Alex and Sibbie Elena Eads Taylor and wife of the late Leston Hood.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 11, at 1 p.m. at Strode Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with burial in Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.

TOMPKINSVILLE — Martha Richhart, 58, died Monday, March 8, 2010, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green.
She was the daughter of the late George Arthur Bryant and Pauline Pennington Bryant.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Richhart of Tompkinsville.

GLASGOW — Edward Jewell Gass Sr., 74, Glasgow, died Monday, March 8, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Mr. Gass chose cremation.
