GLASGOW — Betty Collins

TOMPKINSVILLE — Betty Collins, 56, of Tompkinsville, died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at her home.

The Monroe County native was born Sept. 4, 1953, the daughter of the late Clifton Estus Goad and Ann Dean Pennington Goad. She was a retired mail carrier and a member of Mud Lick Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include her husband, Ricky Collins, whom she married on June 16, 1972, at the Nazarene Church in Glasgow. She is also survived by two sons, Patrick Collins and Chris Collins, both of Tompkinsville; and eight grandchildren.

A firefighter funeral service will be Thursday, March 18, at 2 p.m. at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with Brother Danny Sexton and Brother Gary Pennington officiating. Burial will be in Beautiful Home Cemetery.

Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mud Lick Fire Department.



Stella Gillenwater

BOWLING GREEN — Stella Gillenwater, 85, of Bowling Green, and a native of Barren County, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Britthaven of Bowling Green.

Arrangements are being handled by Burnam & Son Mortuary, Inc., 201 Center Street, Bowling Green.



Shirley Ann Renfro Harper

GLASGOW — Shirley Ann Renfro Harper, 71, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. 

She was the daughter of the late Clarence Renfro and Grace Beckham Renfro.  She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter: Darlene Eudy and husband, Albert, of Cave City; one son: Joey Fisher of Glasgow; six grandchildren: Scotty Eudy, Jason Fisher, Chad Fisher, Luke Fisher, Christina Vanmeter and Felicia Fisher; seven great-grandchildren; and her aunt: Louise Payne.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Joseph Harper; her son: Mark Fisher; and her sister, Donna Kay Stevens.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 19, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, alternate expressions may take the form of donations to Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Nathaniel Lee Wheeler

MUNFORDVILLE — Nathaniel Lee Wheeler, 31, of Munfordville, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville.

He is the son of Beth Ledeama, of Findlay, Ohio, and the late Vernon Wheeler. Other survivors include his stepmother, Mary Wheeler of Munfordville.

Visitation will be private and there will be no service.

Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., Munfordville, is in charge of arrangements.



Allene Lawson White

SUMMER SHADE — Allene Lawson White, 81, of Summer Shade, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at her home.

Arrangements are incomplete, to be announced later by McMurtrey Funeral Home, Summer Shade.

BURKESVILLE — Joe Robert Coe, 79, of Chicago, formerly of Burkesville, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010 in Chicago. Graveside services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Coe Ridge Cemetery in Cumberland County with burial to follow. There will be no visitation. Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home of Burkesville is in charge of arrangements.



CUB RUN — Ora E. (McDowell) Meredith, 87, of Cub Run, died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cherry Springs Baptist Church, with burial in Cherry Springs Cemetery. Visitation continues until 9 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville and from 10 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at Cherry Springs Baptist Church.



HUFF — Jennifer Lynn Spillman Moore, 28, of Huff, died Friday, March 12, 2010, at her residence. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. (today) Tuesday at Gravil Funeral Home, Brownsville, with burial in Hawkins Cemetery.



MUNFORDVILLE — Kenneth Peebles, 76, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home, Munfordville, with burial in Dorsey’s Chapel Cemetery.



TOMPKINSVILLE — Hazel Walker, 53, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Norton Hospital in Louisville. Funeral services will be today (Tuesday) at 2 p.m. at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with burial in Old Mount Herman Cemetery.



AUSTIN — Keith Albert Young, 83, of Austin, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at his residence. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. EST Thursday at Shannon Funeral Home, in Shelbyville, with burial in Eminence Cemetery.  Visitation continues until 9 p.m. CST at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, in Glasgow, and Wednesday from  4 until 9 p.m. EST at Shannon Funeral Home in Shelbyville.
